Puppies

We have this puppy at our house.  Okay, technically she's still a puppy she won't be a year old until February.  She is a huge puppy.  Her name is Chloe.  She's a mixed designer breed.  I call her that because she is half Yellow Lab, a quarter Husky, and a quarter Mastiff, and cost $500 dollars.  She is very active for her size, she runs the house, and the yard, and she weights about 80 lbs.  She is not our only dog.  We have a sweet older dog, her name is skittles, she is half Boarder Collie and half Jack Russell Terrier we rescued her from a shelter when she was a year old.  Skittles is 13 years old. Chloe is about twice the size of skittles and like to run her too.  Interestingly enough if skittles wants to control her she still has what it takes to keep Chloe in her place.

We are dog people.  We love our dogs they are like our children.  So we kind let some things slide when it comes to our yard.  We now have holes in our yard like polo divits.  Does this drive me crazy? Yes it does, but she is our puppy and we love her.  Do we need a new couch? Yes but she is our puppy and we love her.  My family all say, "Mom, we will help take care of her.  We promise.". For the most part they have but this is out of sheer defense.  If they don't help take care of her I'm screwed.  I can't lift her anymore.

Our dogs do enrich our lives and keep us active and somewhat healthy.  I call them puppies, and much as my children will always be my babies, they will always be my puppies.  If we let them animals will always be a light in our lives, they depend on us for everything.  The love they give back to us will keep us young and alive.    If you include animals in your life you may even live a longer healthier, happier life.

Until next week. Be safe be happy and feel loved.
